Summer Reading assignment:

-Make a picture timeline with labels of all the events that occurred in the story or

-Complete the Book Report Organizer based on one of the books read.

-If your child had access to iReady Reading intervention during the school year please continue working on it for 30 minutes a week to reinforce the skills.

Summer Math Practice

-Complete all of IXL Kindergarten Math lessons.  username: first initial followed by last name@bgcs  password: student Ex: mhernandez@bgcs
-If your child had access to iReady Math intervention during the school year please continue working on it for 30 minutes a week to reinforce the skills.
-Students should be able to complete all missions under Problem A for Kindergarten on the Summer Math Review packet attached.

Students receive a new packet each week.  Please check your child’s homework every night.

BOX TOPS – Service Project

Image result for box topsIn Social Studies we learn about service projects and how we can help our school and community.  One of our service projects is to help our school raise funds.  An easy way to raise funds is by simply collecting Box Tops.You may download the form by clicking the link Box Tops and glue or tape the box tops, or simply place them in a zip lock bag with your child’s name on it, or download the application (app) on your smart phone and scan your receipts.

Your child needs to wear a school uniform every day. “Jean Day” is each Friday for a donation of $1.00.  The last Friday of the month will be a “Dress Down Day” for a donation of $2.00.  PLEASE remember to send in the appropriate amount of money each Friday.

How to complete your 30 volunteering hours

Don’t have a volunteer number yet?  Register at under the parents or community tab then visit our office and obtain your number.

  • Chaperone at field trips
  • Lunch Duty
  • Library (Read to students or help them check out books)
  • Making copies
  • Working in the classroom (small groups, reading to the students, science labs, etc.)
  • Sharpen pencils

Can’t volunteer at the school?  No problem,  Every $10 donated = 1 volunteer hour.  Include copy of receipt with your donation complete your hours.
